Thackley Action Group Plan
“Walk In”
You will, no doubt. have heard of a " Sit In" as a means of protest. Well, Thackley Action Group is holding a "Walk In" to bring attention to the proposed building on Cote Farm on Saturday 15th March. It would be fantastic if the 1000 official objectors and petitioners could be there but everyone, both young and old, is welcome. Should you bring a home made banner, then so much the better! Children will need parental support and dogs will need to be on a leash due to the nature of the route.
We will meet in Thackley Cricket Club car park at 10.30 am for a 10.45am start. The route will follow Crag Road to the Zebra Crossing on Leeds Road, before taking the footpath to Greenfield Lane. We will then come down Crooked Lane before retracing our steps to the Cricket Club for pats on the back and refreshments.
We estimate the walk will take about 1 to 11/2 hours and stress that boots or wellies are a must as Crooked Lane is wet, and muddy. For this reason we do not think push chairs or prams are a realistic option but that has to be your decision on the day.
We will hopefully be giving our new banner a first airing. You may remember that our original banner was stolen by louts who some say had connections to Persimmon. You of course may say that but both the Trumpit and the Thackley Action Group could not possibly comment. So bring yourselves and your banners etc. on the day and help remind the council that the people of Thackley WILL BE HEARD.
